She’s a Modern ‘Timothy’

This is Aira Criselle Tanglao.

She is one of my life group members.

At the age of 8, she had her personal encounter with the Lord. She was then attending at Kidzlife, the kids ministry of His Life City Church (our church) while her parents, worship and listen to the word of God in the sanctuary. At first, she’s just attending because it is where kids need to be. Little did she know that as young as she is, God is already preparing her heart for a life-changing encounter with Him.

One of the best mentoring we had.

Every year, we conduct the Kids’ Camp, and she’s one of those kids who chose to join in the camp. And on that event, God spoke to her with the verse: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” (1 Tim. 4:12) It was the start of her being a ‘modern Timothy

She took her relationship with God seriously by being consistent with her prayer life and reading her bible. She also has her journal, writing down her revelations from God.

At the age of 11 he started to attend a life group. With this, she grew deeper with her relationship with the Lord because she her spiritual family was there to help her in her walk with God.

At the age of 12, she opened up her own life group. She accepted God’s calling to her to be a life group leader. She embraced the ‘burden’ that God has given her for the lost souls. She was not ashamed to share the gospel to her friends and classmates and started to invite them to attend church, and eventually, to be part of a life group.

Her first spiritual family, when she’s still attending Kidzlife.

At the age of 13, she had her first preaching. She preached in our prayer works, wherein the congregation gathers together at 5 am to pray. She preached in front of people who are 10 years older or more, than her, at least same age already with her parents. Of course, she was nervous she took courage to preach because she knows she’s not the one who’s going to preach but it will be God. He will just use her. And I tell you, her preaching is not just a preaching for the kids, it is indeed powerful!

At the age of 14, she became a campus minister and bloomed in her ministry in our church. She’s now a teacher at Kidzlife. She’s also preaching in our retreats. She keeps on winning her campus for Jesus!

And now…she’s only 15, but had accomplished already a lot of great things for the Lord! Indeed, she’s young but she’s an example to other believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

I believe God is just starting in her life. She’s going to overcome more giants to be her great testimonies!

Whoever or whatever you are, no matter how young or old, GOD CAN USE YOU MIGHTILY. As long as you are willing to be used by Him. All you need to do is surrender to Him your fears and worries in exchange of trust and obedience to Him.

Because at the end of the day, it is not about WHO YOU ARE, but it’s about the ONE who is in YOU, He is GREATER than the one who is in the world; the One who won the battle for us on the CROSS OF CALVARY.
